Unity in Diversity - Meeting other Indonesian Fellows

One but different

That phrase may suitable with our condition right now

On August 3, 2018 I met my fellowships from the same SEA Teacher program. They came from different island, different city. We met in Soekarno Hatta airport in Jakarta, then we went to the Philippines together

We have to be 10 peoples when arrived in the Philippines, but there was an accident happen to our three friends from Sebelas Maret University (UNS) of Solo city. They couldn't get their flight from Jakarta to Philippines on schedule because the plane's door was in trouble. So they have to stay in the airport, and reschedule their flight tickets. They arrived safely on the next day, on August 4.

We arrived in Ninoy Aquino International airport, Manila

The Dean, Ma’am Imelda Parcasio  and our teaching coordinator, Ma’am Jingle Cuevas were fetch us in the airport. We start our journey to Benguet with BSU mini bus. In the late of night, around 11 P.M, we stopped to grab some food, KFC.

Our first meal in the Philippines

At first, we were surprised because there was no chili sauce in the Philippines KFC . The Indonesians were love spicy  foods, that’s why we were looking for chili sauce at that time. I try to asked to Ma’am Imelda and Ma’am Jingle also, but they said that the sauce that available in here is just the garlic pepper sauce as you can see on the picture above. When we tried the sauce for the first time, it tasted weird. But then it blended well with the chicken and rice. The garlic and pepper in that sauce tasted really good and I became addicted to the sauce ๐Ÿ˜€

After having our meals, we continue the journey to Benguet province about 3-4 hours more. It was Friday, so there was a traffic in the road to Benguet. Ma'am Imelda and Ma'am Jingle asked us to continue our sleep since the journey is still long.

7/10 delegates of SEA Teacher arrived in La Trinidad, Benguet

That picture above was taken on the next day, August 4 at 10 A.M, before we go to our city tour with our coordinating teacher, Ma’am Jingle Cuevas and her husband Kuya William. On the same day, other fellows from UNS Solo arrived midnight from their long journey.
Finally we became complete๐Ÿ’•

The first thing we done after the three girls arrived was had lunch together and take a picture. I feel  that we became closer like family on our 2nd day in here ๐Ÿ˜Š

On August 5, BSU held an opening program to welcome our arrival in BSU for the SEA Teacher Program. The opening program started with the flag ceremony in front of BSU Administration Building. Then the staffs were introducing us, before we went to campus tour.

Meeting the new people is fun. I know that we're belong to different island, came from different ethnic and background, we lived in harmony and those factors doesn't change our goal to learn something new in the Philippines.
