Okay, on this post I'll tell you about the pedagogical contents that you may found in BSU-Secondary Laboratory School (SLS). I found this pedagogical contents during my observation days in BSU-Secondary Laboratory School.

TEACHING METHODS

First thing that I want to tell you is about the teaching method that BSU-Secondary Laboratory School's teachers commonly used. The teachers here commonly use lecture method and expository method. The teacher also conducted the class discussion before they give the students assessment or assignment to know whether the students understand or not with the day lesson.

LEARNING MATERIALS AND INNOVATIONS

Although the teachers used lecture method, beside the books and modules they used, they also use some technologies available in every class on BSU-Secondary Laboratory School such as LCD projector, TV, speaker, and laptop. They used those technologies to gain the interest of the students for today's lesson, especially for the 7th grade, the teachers sometimes play video or song as their motivation in the beginning of the class.

Beside using the technologies, the teachers still have to write down some information or make a mind map to make the student give their ideas and the result is the students can understand more about the topic of the day.

When the teachers use a traditional method, they have to make the student interested with the topic. I saw that the teachers in BSU-Secondary Laboratory School already come with the new innovation through the traditional media such as map or paper.

Students' participation in class
In ma'am Imee Cuadra's class, she used the world map which is a traditional teaching material, to make the students feel interested with the lesson. She gave the students a paper which has different colors indicate the world continents. Then she asked the students to place the paper in the map. The students should place it in the country that have the same color with their paper. After that, the students will explain what is the country and where is the country located. The result is the students want to participate in the class through this kind of activity.

Sometimes the students get bored with the class. So when that time comes, the teachers should be able to make them fresh and cheer up again. One of several things that can make students refresh their brain is outdoor game.

Through a game, the students can learn more about teamwork, solidarity and respecting value between one to another students.

SOURCE OF LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY

Sources of learning are books, magazines, module, internet and worksheet. The students can also access the virtual library inside the school to looking for information regarding to the material of the lesson. They also can borrow some books in library inside the school and the library in BSU campus.

But for the better learning process, the students should buy a comprehensive magazine from the book publisher through their homeroom teacher. It cost about 150 to 200 Pesos. The students should ask permission and signature from their parents before buy the magazine. Beside of the magazine, the students can also borrow some book in BSU-Secondary Laboratory School library. It is located before the teacher's office. They have to ask the duty teacher before borrow the books.

AUTHENTIC ASSESSMENT

The examination for the students of SLS held every middle of semester and the end of the semester. The examination hold by the school itself, but still referring to the government for the time and qualification.

OTHER INFORMATION

To keep the class clean, every class has their cleaning duty. As for Ma'am Imee Cuadra's class, she makes the students' cleaning duty every week. So she divided the students into five days, from Monday to Friday. Then she just put the students' name in random order. The purpose to place it randomly is because she want the students' to interact more with the other classmate in the class. The homeroom teacher will always monitoring their cleaning duty every day.

The  BSU-Secondary Laboratory School teachers' usually give the students assignment after lesson to evaluate their students' understanding toward today's lesson. Then the students will submit it on the promised date. They submit it by pass the assignment from the back to the front, so they no need to move from their chair.
